Angry United fans attack Ferguson and Moyes during Manchester derby loss

United-fans-derbyFrustrated Manchester United supporters took their anger out on Sir Alex Ferguson after Tuesday’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester City. After the match, angry fans yelled expletives at the former United manager as well as David Moyes, his handpicked successor, according to multiple reports.
Stadium stewards also had to be deployed to prevent supporters from tearing down a banner honouring Moyes as “The Chosen One.”Ferguson retired last season and chose Moyes to take over the club that he led to 13 Premier League titles in 26 season.

United are currently in seventh with 51 points, and an emphatic defeat to their cross-town rivals — their 10th league loss of the season — was apparently too much for some fans to take.

Tuesday’s defeat ensured United will finish with their lowest point total of the Premier League era.Stewards had to pull one fan away from Moyes’ seat in the dug-out, according to The Telegraph.

Club officials have publicly stood by Moyes, though sources told ESPN FC last week that key Manchester United boardroom figures have considered the possibility of sacking Moyes for the first time.

Moyes took the blame for Tuesday’s loss.“I take responsibility,” Moyes said. “I have to be the one who plays them, picks them and that is what it is. I don’t think tonight was in any way [down to] a lack of effort or lack of commitment from the players, in fact I thought they were fully there but in some areas we didn’t come up to scratch.”

Nigerian President... Goodluck Jonathan quotes.

On Monday night, President Goodluck Jonathan was engaged in a media chat that was televised live and a series of questions were thrown at him around matters concerning the Boko Haram, the Centenary celebrations, the National Conference, and the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, . Here is a list of some of his statements that Nigerians won’t be forgetting in a hurry:

“Niger Delta militants do not kill for no reason, unlike Boko Haram”.

Over a week ago on Sunday in Borno state, eight communities were attacked by members of the Boko Haram sect, leaving so 121 people, including women and children dead, mostly burned alive from explosions during the attack.

When the President was asked about other strategies to stop Boko Haram violence, he had this to say: “They are not forthcoming. Immediately a group of people get into terror activities, they get brain-washed. They connect with other terror organizations. In the case of Niger-Delta, you can identify them, and when in my time as Deputy Governor, the leaders came for meetings, even in the state house, Abuja.”
Abubakar Boko Haram

“$20 billion is a lot money that can produce a lot of jobs for Nigerians….whether it was k1 or $1 that is missing we have to find it.”

Now suspended CBN Governor, Lamido Sanusi Lamido, alleged before his suspension that the NNPC had a certain $20 billion to account for. The news went viral sparking campaigns and protests from concerned Nigerians home and abroad demanding a clear explanation on the matter.
When the President was about the alleged missing money, he had this to say: “We were all alarmed when he said $49.8 billion was missing. I don’t know which to believe, the $49.8 billion or the $20 billion. Whatever we do, we must follow due process and rule of law. Sanusi’s suspension has nothing to do with what is happening now, not because of any whistle blowing.”

“National Conference is not about disintegration of Nigeria. Nigeria will not disintegrate.”

In January the Federal Government announced the modalities for the proposed but controversial National Dialogue, which is known as “The National Conference” and is expected to feature 492 delegates. The Conference is expected to last for 3 months and shall discuss any subject matter, except the indivisibility and indissolubility of Nigeria as a nation; therefore the unity of Nigeria is non-negotiable.
Speaking during the media chat about why the unity of Nigeria is a no-go area, the president said: “The committee that fashioned out the recommendation for the Conference said only one person suggested that Nigeria should not stay together.”

The British supermodel hinted she doesn’t think that the reality TV star earned the right to appear on the front page of the American fashion bible’s April issue.
When asked about the controversial cover, the 43-year-old star started laughing and told Australia’s ‘The Morning Show’ on Tuesday March 25, 2014: ‘I do not want to comment. Because I’m a fashion model and I’ve been working for 28 years and when you get a Vogue cover it’s a build in your career, it’s a stepping-stone to achieve that. And you know I’m a fashion model so what more can I say.’
Naomi has been close friends with Kim’s fiancĂ©, Kanye West, for several years and clearly wasn’t in the mood to start a feud, as she refused to be drawn on the matter when Kylie Gillies asked: ‘So you think Kim and Kanye haven’t earned the right to be on the cover?’
She carefully replied: ‘Those are your words, I’m being politically correct. That’s (Vogue editor) Anna Wintour’s choice to put them on the cover of her magazine, who’s to question it.’
Kim’s Vogue cover, which shows her posing in a wedding dress alongside Kanye, caused shockwaves when it was unveiled on the magazine’s website on Friday, March 21, 2014.
Former ‘Buffy’ star Sarah Michelle Gellar announced she was cancelling her subscription as a result.
The 36-year-old actress wrote on Twitter: ‘Well……I guess I’m cancelling my Vogue subscription. Who is with me???
Many of the blonde beauty’s followers agreed with her, but Kim’s best friend Jonathan Cheban was unimpressed by her comment.
He retweeted the message, adding: ‘Do u matter? (sic)’. Gellar has since deleted the tweet.

I was ill and now am Well..... Dora Akunyili

 Dora Akunyili
Former Director-General of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, Prof. Dora Akunyili, has denied reports making the rounds that she is critically ill as a result of an unknown life-threatening ailment.
Pictures of Akunyili recently surfaced online showing her looking very frail and the rumors set in that she was suffering from a strange illness that had defied medical diagnosis and treatment.
But in a post she made on her Facebook page on Tuesday, Akunyili, a former Minister of Information, who was nominated to represent Anambra State at the ongoing National Conference in Abuja, said she had since recovered from her illness and had been declared fit for the conference by her doctors.
Although she did not disclose the nature of illness she admittedly just pulled through from, she admitted it made her “shed much weight” and needed to “re-grow some flesh”.
In the post, which was titled ‘I am well, fit and ready for the National Conference’, the former tough-talking NAFDAC boss, who has an infectious smile, dismissed claims of her persistent ailment as baseless and unfounded and blamed mischief makers for spreading the rumours.
The full post read, “My Dear Friends, my attention has been drawn to a story making the rounds online claiming that I am seriously sick, currently out of the country and in need of urgent prayers.
“This story is baseless, unfounded and the handiwork of mischief makers. It should be ignored and discarded in its entirety.
“As every informed Nigerian knows, I am a delegate to the National Conference currently holding in Abuja. I was duly accredited as a delegate and I am currently in attendance at the National Judicial Institute, Abuja, venue of the conference.
“While it is true that I recently came out of a major sickness, for which I thank Almighty God for delivering me, I have since been declared fit by my doctors and returned to my normal activities. I shed much weight in the course of the sickness – which is normal – but I am well now and only need time to re-grow some flesh.
“There is nothing to worry about either my health or my present stature. I know that God has kept me alive for a purpose, this National Conference being part of that purpose”.
